Trailer Sales/Leasing Representative
We are currently seeking candidates for a Trailer Sales position. This position will be required to develop and maintain strong relationships with private fleets, owner-operators and anyone else needing equipment to secure sale, lease, and service of new and/or used trailers, as well as other appropriate premium equipment upgrades or options by performing the following duties
These positions are for 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Friday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- 1. Prospect and cold-call businesses in designated territories to earn new business and maintain long-term relationships with assigned accounts.
- 2. Maintain customer relationship database of prospects and customers.
- 3. Positively represent Amston Trailer Sales and promote all equipment and service capabilities while engaged in work-related activities.
- 4. Represent Company through various prospecting methods including phone, internet, field sales, as well as regional exhibits and trade shows.
- 5. Keep management informed of customer feedback in regards to strengths and weaknesses of Company sales fleet compared to the competition.
- 6. Prepare emails, letters, quotes, and orders and send information to customers and prospects.
- 7. Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales and rental leads, based on information from inquiries, trade shows, aged leads, dealer resellers, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- 8. Contact current customer companies and ask questions to develop potential new/used trailer sales rental and leasing opportunities.
- 9. Make follow-up calls to potential and existing customers as sales prospects become available.
- 10. Handle equipment modifications, add-ons, or maintenance requests for prospective customers in order to close transaction. Negotiates prices and credit terms and obtains contract modification, and gross margin, approvals from Vice President of Sales prior to closing the sales transaction.
- 11. Manage test drives or product demos of equipment to qualified customers on request.
- 12. Prepare sales paperwork for all orders obtained.
- 13. Coordinate equipment delivery, proccess bill of sale, titles and plates, and complete pre-delivery inspection
- 14. Achieve weekly and monthly goals for sales activity, including calls, prospect interaction, proposals and signed business, and submit weekly activity report to supervisor.
- 15. Build and maintain customer relationships.
- 16. Enter new customer data and other contract information into CRM computer database.
- 17. Work with Vice President of Sales and Sales Executives to keep account activities, literature and website up to date.
- 18. Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries or maintenance.
- 19. Travel to and attend manufacture training and trade shows
- 20. Other duties as assigned or requested by Vice President-Sales
- 21. Help make Amston Trailer Sales the premier full service trailer dealership in the Midwest

Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, executives and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions of customer requirements. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Other Qualifications
Requires the ability to operate various office equipment to include a computer, voice mail, copier, fax, and calculator. Requires the ability to operate various software such as word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
Experience Requirements
- • Training on equipment will be provided by the company as well as equipment manufacturers, so no prior equipment knowledge is necessary, though knowledge of class 8 trucks and trailers would be considered a plus.
- • Updating websites, selling/advertising through social media & other digital platforms
- • Proven Sales Skills, with documented success
- • Minimum two years successful track record in equipment sales
- • Knowledge and ability to create sales contracts and process title and financial information
- • Ability to negotiate, process and sign contracts
- • Dealership familiarity considered a plus

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles requiring to the use of safety glasses and a dust mask; toxic or caustic chemicals; and outdoor weather conditions. You will be requiring to wear the proper PPE required for the job. The noise level in the work environment may occasionally be extremely loud and require the use of ear plugs. The employee occasionally performs work-related travel.
