Diesel Technician


These positions are for 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Friday.


SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Service Department Manager, the Mechanic engages in the servicing and repair of transportation equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Peripheral vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell.

WORK ENVIROMENT

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to work in high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles requiring the use of a dust mask; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions; extreme cold (non-weather); extreme heat (non-weather) and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment may occasionally be extremely loud, and require the use of ear plugs. The employee occasionally performs work-related travel.
